  2. USING THE ALADDIN SCRIPT
  3.  
  4. Please note: this is not a SnapStock script, it is an ALADDIN script. 
  5. ALADDIN is an automated communications program for use with the GENIE
  6. online service.

  8. This script, adapted from one I found in the PC Aladdin roundtable on 
  9. Genie, needs to be imported into your "User Script" area in Aladdin, or
  10. simply chosen from the "perform user script" menu item, if using Alad 1.80
  11. or later.

  13. Obviously, you will need to modify it for the exact issues you wish to track.
  14. Up to 30 ticker symbols may go on each line, separated by commas.

  16. Since the Genie quotes include prices for two days, I usually run this every 
  17. other day. I then update my files in SnapStock, using the file QUOTES.GEN 
  18. created by this script as my source.
  19.  
  20. SnapStock actually flips QUOTES.GEN over, so the dates become chronological
  21. (GENIE lists today first, followed by yesterday - SnapStock needs them in
  22. the other order.) The upshot of this is that the issues you place last in 
  23. this script will wind up at the top of your performance report, and will be
  24. the first updates performed by SnapStock.
